The Betty Ogiel Foundation offers a range of programs focusing primarily on underprivileged girls in Karamoja and Teso, such as:
Betty Ogiel Foundation is committed to helping girls navigate societal barriers that often prevent them from reaching their full potential. The foundation believes that educated girls grow up to be empowered women who lead, innovate, and drive positive change in their communities.
Although our primary focus is on girls’ education, the Betty Ogiel Foundation believes in the importance of inclusivity. In some instances, we extend support to boys from underprivileged areas who face similar challenges, ensuring they too have opportunities for education and skill development. We believe that empowering all young people, regardless of gender, will lead to stronger, more resilient communities.
We are committed to transparency, accountability, and creating lasting change in the lives of the children we support. By partnering with local communities, schools, and organizations, we ensure that our efforts meet the specific needs of the regions we serve.
The regions of Karamoja and Teso are among the most marginalized in Uganda, often struggling with poor infrastructure, economic hardship, and lack of access to education, particularly for girls. Through partnerships with local schools, community leaders, and supporters, the Betty Ogiel Foundation is actively working to change this narrative by giving these girls hope and a future.
My messages of hope and resilience have touched countless lives. Passionate about advocating for the vulnerable, I founded the Betty Ogiel Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting girl-child education in the Karamoja and Teso Regions of Uganda. My work focuses on helping girls in dire circumstances attain higher education and develop skills for self-reliance while also sometimes extending support to boys in underprivileged areas.
