Our Programs

The Betty Ogiel Foundation offers a range of programs focusing primarily on underprivileged girls in Karamoja and Teso, such as:

  1. Scholarships: Providing access to secondary and tertiary education through full and partial scholarships to help these girls stay in school and pursue higher education.
  2. Mentorship and Leadership: Guiding girls through mentorship and leadership development, connecting them with role models to foster personal and academic growth.
  3. Community Engagement: Working closely with local communities and schools to ensure sustainable impacts and lasting relationships that benefit both students and the broader community.
Our Commitment to Girl-Child Education

Betty Ogiel Foundation is committed to helping girls navigate societal barriers that often prevent them from reaching their full potential. The foundation believes that educated girls grow up to be empowered women who lead, innovate, and drive positive change in their communities.

Our commitment to Inclusivity

Although our primary focus is on girls’ education, the Betty Ogiel Foundation believes in the importance of inclusivity. In some instances, we extend support to boys from underprivileged areas who face similar challenges, ensuring they too have opportunities for education and skill development. We believe that empowering all young people, regardless of gender, will lead to stronger, more resilient communities.

Our Commitment

We are committed to transparency, accountability, and creating lasting change in the lives of the children we support. By partnering with local communities, schools, and organizations, we ensure that our efforts meet the specific needs of the regions we serve.

Challenges and Opportunities

The regions of Karamoja and Teso are among the most marginalized in Uganda, often struggling with poor infrastructure, economic hardship, and lack of access to education, particularly for girls. Through partnerships with local schools, community leaders, and supporters, the Betty Ogiel Foundation is actively working to change this narrative by giving these girls hope and a future.
